EVENTS
Every year AMVETS National Headquarters and State Headquarters host a variety of meetings where members meet and conduct AMVETS' business. The following tabs provide all the available meeting information for the next few years for both the National and State Meetings. Furthermore, included in this tab is the upcoming events button, this provides the public with all the information concerning future AMVETS events such as: dinners, bingo nights, local meetings, and many more. If a member wishes to publish new information, concerning a future event, you must first complete and submit the following questionnaire provided under the last button. You are invited to come join the AMVETS at one of these many functions.

UPCOMING AMVETS POST 9 AND OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS

Our AMVETS Club 9 is opening soon. The Club Room will offer great food and
enterainment at a very reasonable cost to members and their guests.
SB-440 (PULL TABS) passes the senate by
wide margin. If it passes the House and is sign into law by the governor, this
bill will provide non-profit veterans organization with another vehicle in which
to raise funding for our service and programs to assist our veterans and active
duty military still serving. Amvets, Department of Georgia thanks all senators
who supported our veterans by voting yes on SB-440. Amvets Post 9 applauds
Senators Ed Harbison and Seth Harp for their support on this bill. This bill did
not get to the floor for a vote. It has been reported to the Post 9 Commander
that a certain Member of the House of Representatives lied to the AMVETS and VFW
Department of Georgia regarding this bill. The post commander is investigating
this representative's involvement with SB-440 and will take the appropriate
legislative action. It is the post commander's understanding that this
representative will seek the U.S. House seat of Charlie Norwood (deceased). The
seat is currently held by Paul Broun (R) from
